Core Conversations
An Unfolding Journey
This audio series covers a sequence of core principles I have taught and lived for decades—shared here through open, thoughtful conversation with my daughter, Janelle. Each principle builds on the last, creating a framework for a life of meaning, balance, and purpose.
Consider these conversations an invitation to reflect, listen, and notice what’s unfolding in your own life.
#1 Authenticity: The Courage to Be Who You Are
Authenticity is a courageous, ongoing practice rooted in worthiness and self-awareness. We encourage you to reflect on the roles you’ve adopted, examine the voice of the inner critic, and notice where living out of alignment may be affecting your mental and emotional well-being. Through gentle reflection and experimentation, we invite small, honest shifts toward living in a way that feels more grounded, aligned, and true.
#2 Anxiety: It’s Not Who You Are — It’s Something You Experience
We invite you to look at anxiety in a new way—not as who you are, but as something you experience. In this session, we examine why anxiety shows up, how it’s often tied to fear and control, and how small shifts in awareness can create real relief. We’ll show you how to pause, question anxious thoughts, and experiment with gentler, more grounded ways of responding when anxiety arises.
#3 Living With Intention: Discovering Your Personal Mission
Let’s rethink personal mission - see it not as a rigid life statement, but as a guiding compass that helps align who you are with what you do. In this session, we explore how your natural gifts, values, and energy offer clues to your purpose, and how a clear sense of mission can support better decisions, reduce burnout, and bring more meaning to everyday life. Reflect gently, release the pressure to “get it right,” and experiment with defining a mission that feels honest, flexible, and true to you.
#4 Spirituality: What It Is and Why It Matters
Explore spirituality as a natural, human experience—not a belief system or something you have to get “right.” In this session, we offer simple distinctions between natural and spiritual energy, explore practices like prayer, reflection, mindfulness, and intuition, and gently question what gets in the way of feeling connected. Rather than prescribing a method, this conversation encourages curiosity, presence, and discovering what spiritual connection looks like for you.
#5 Finding Life Balance: Less Hustle, More Peace
We invite you to rethink balance—not as doing everything, but as aligning your time and energy with what actually brings peace. Together, we explore how productivity can quietly become a measure of worth, why being busy doesn’t always mean fulfilled, and how small, intentional shifts can restore a sense of calm and clarity. We encourage you to experiment with letting peace—not pressure—be your compass, and to notice what truly refuels you so balance can become personal, sustainable, and real.
#6 Influence and Leadership: The Power You Hold (Whether You Know It or Not)
Explore influence as something you already carry—whether you’re aware of it or not. In this session, we reflect on the difference between influence and leadership, the many forms influence can take, and what happens when it’s ignored or misdirected. We invite you to notice where your presence shapes others, consider how intentionally you’re using your voice, and reflect on how leadership rooted in awareness and inclusion can expand connection rather than control.
#7 Communication: It’s More Than Just Talking
In this session, we explore communication as more than words—a relational process shaped by perception, tone, history, and intention. We encourage you to reflect on the filters you bring into conversations, experiment with deeper listening, and practice communicating in ways that build safety and understanding. Rather than aiming for perfection, we encourage you to focus on presence, curiosity, and shared responsibility as the foundation for meaningful connection.
#8 Change: Why It’s Hard—and How to Work With It
Change isn’t a switch you flip—it’s a process you grow into. In this conversation, we explore change as an ongoing, deeply personal process rather than a quick fix or dramatic overhaul. We reflect on why change often feels threatening even when it’s desired, how resistance and fear can quietly keep us stuck, and why small, intentional experiments tend to be more sustainable than big promises. Through curiosity, reframing, and gentle action, we encourage approaching change with compassion, patience, and a willingness to evolve one step at a time.
